Registration

In accordance with Article 4(1) of BATE, participants in the Swiss and European markets must register with ElCom before entering into any transaction or placing any order on a wholesale energy market. Their transactions will subsequently be reported via insider information platforms (IIP) and reporting mechanisms (RRM) which are authorized by ElCom and must, for this purpose, be registered with it.

• Market participants

  Participants in the Swiss and European markets must register with the Federal Electricity Commission (ElCom) before concluding any transaction or placing any order on a wholesale energy market (Article 4(1) of BATE) and must immediately notify ElCom of any changes to the information provided at the time of their registration (Article 4(3) of BATE).

• Reporting Mechanisms (RRM)

  Any natural or legal person domiciled or having their registered office in Switzerland or the EU who, in their own name or on behalf of a Swiss market participant or a European market participant, wishes to submit information to ElCom pursuant to Article 12 of BATE, must first register their reporting mechanism with ElCom and have it approved by ElCom (Article 13(1) of BATE).

• Inside Information Platforms (IIP)

  Any natural or legal person wishing to operate an inside information platform must first register the platform with ElCom and have it authorised by ElCom (Article 9(1) of BATE).
